Ajao Adedamola
Cloud Engineer·Lagos, Nigeria
I build and run cloud infrastructure on AWS — networking, deployment pipelines, and the automation that keeps them cheap and boring. Most of my work has been making other people's software reliable enough that nobody thinks about it.
I work on the data side too, turning messy operational data into dashboards people actually make decisions from. I care most about infrastructure that is written down, reproducible, and cheap to run.
Things I've built
Forked a self-hosted mail client off Cloudflare Workers and rebuilt the backend on AWS: Lambda, single-table DynamoDB, S3 and SES. Wrote a custom SvelteKit adapter for API Gateway, assembled raw MIME so the app controls its own threading, and provisioned the whole stack in Terraform.
Where I've worked
One of the founding board of a remote Nigerian technology company, alongside the engineering work below.
Owned the core AWS estate — VPCs, subnets, load balancers, security groups. Automated scheduled shutdown of dev RDS instances to cut idle spend, shipped deployments through CodePipeline and Docker, and built a VPN path giving developers secure access to cloud resources.
Built the reporting layer on SQL and Python: Power BI dashboards for revenue, retention and sales trends, automated pipelines that removed the manual reporting cycle, and customer segmentation and cohort analysis used by Sales and Operations.
Ran site-to-site VPN tunnels and Transit Gateway connectivity across multiple AWS accounts, moved database snapshots between accounts for the dev team, and stood up VPCs, subnets and route tables with CloudFormation and Terraform.
Designed and installed campus network and system builds, troubleshot failures, and monitored the environment with Nagios.
